This article cover the women in rural area who face increasing inequality. UN shows some factors that may push women into a disadvantaged economic position ; a gender gap in earnings, low-quality jobs, larger work burdens without proper wage. This unfair treatment is happening in India and Egypt. However, there is more interesting observation. 90 per cent of the wage gap between men and women in developed or developing countries. The reporter argue that it is attributed to gender discrimination. He also said seventy per cent of the developing world's 1.4 billion extremely poor people live in rural areas, so raising rural women's economic participation is crucial to achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
When we take global perspective, for one woman, a lower wage than man or larger burden with lower wage can cause global problem. In other words, it correlated to not only global economic problem but gender discrimination .
I think this is very important issue in every society. When we think about life chances, women are usually in disadventageous position. When women are divorced, there are the higher proportion of single women taking on the financial responsibility of children although women's wage are lower than man. This causes women's poverty. This is very crucial problem over the world, so every society must try to solve this social problem. However, I think women also make an effort not to be discriminated.
